Flag of New York State, USA

Lokii from the USA sent me this card of the New York State Flag. She says that the nickname "Empire State" is commonly thought to have been coined by George Washington, as he believed it would become the seat of the new empire due to its economic and industrial growth in the 1780s. However there is no documentation supporting this story and some say the name was related to population growth rather than the state's prosperity.
Thank you for the card, Lokii.

That makes 2 state flag cards in my collection now. only 48 more to go!
